Escape from Paul Johnson

Men of the Board-
During a week filled where the usual comparisons, speculation, Cash-Money Reggie Bush tirades and 2009-2010 recruiting speculation that follow another Notre Dame loss, here is my first nugget (special thanks to WCCO-MN):

So while "ND_Leahy78"(fictitious) from the Class of 1978 questions Charlie because our Irish faltered as Mr. 1978 returned to catch a game with his son, Domer faithful can rest assure that something better than Hamms will be makings it way to South Bend via St. Paul next year. Mr. Tim Brown, meet Mr. Floyd. Say goodbye to your records. And can he wear your jersey number?

Hey, maybe Brady was that good, but at least Mr. Weis can recruit.

Welcome Joe. And while we are on the topic of great ND receivers, where in anyone's opinion does Derrick Mayes rank? He was good on the field, and from what I've heard, even better in the bedroom with the ladies of ND/SMC. Thoughts?

Derrick Mayes....One thought crosses my mind: FSU 31, ND 26. Opening Drive. Powlus four-step drop, pumps, fires downfield, Mayes....Touchdown Irish! Recap: Powlus-to-Mayes and the Irish have put their first points on the board.

I was at that game. One correction though: Ron-Ron had rebroken the collarbone against Navy that year. Tom Krug, also known as Dickie V's Son-in-Law, QB'd the Irish that night. And Mayes also had a spectacular punt return called back for a clip. What the hell was it with the Irish, the Orange Bowl, and stupid clips on punt returns?
